Helping you overcome challenges and achieve your version of a satisfying and well-lived life.

My Manifesto

I am committed to empowering women by using principles of psychology to help women choose healthier life paths and build financial confidence.

I believe that when people feel safe, they are motivated and inspired to take risks, and try on new ways of thinking and behaving.

I’m dedicated to helping clients discover that one seemingly small change that alters their thinking or behavior.

I live in the land of possibilities and I love learning. I am a creative problem solver and I get excited when people want to make a change in their lives.

My Biography

I never imagined that I would become a doctor and entrepreneur.

My first job, at 18, was working in a factory. I spent two-and-a-half years sewing bundles of shirts for JC Penny and Oshkosh. I also worked in retail sales, real estate, accounting, and floral design. I soon realized I wouldn’t be able to support my family with these jobs and couldn’t advance without a college education.

I fell in love with the study of human behavior in my late 20s after taking an Intro to Psychology class at the Pennsylvania State University. I’ve always been curious about the “why’s” of life and this class explored the reasons why people behave the way they do. That was the moment I decided to pursue a degree in Psychology.

My first job after receiving my degree was providing drug and alcohol prevention programming in Susquehanna County school districts. A year later, I began working in the Psychology Department at Allied Services in Scranton, PA. During that time, I also started a Masters of Art in Psychology program at Marywood University. Soon after completing my Masters I pursued an opportunity to become a full-time faculty member at Keystone College in LaPlume, PA.

As my passion for studying human behavior grew, so did my desire to learn. Though I very much wanted to earn a doctorate, due to my family obligations, I couldn’t leave the area. Serendipitously, Marywood University became the first institution in northeastern Pennsylvania to offer a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree and I was accepted into the new program. I continued to teach while working on my doctorate.

After graduating in 2007, I accepted a full-time, tenure-track position at Keystone where I chaired the committee that developed and instituted a new Bachelor of Psychology program. After being granted tenure, I left Keystone to complete my postdoctoral training at Marywood University’s Counseling/Student Development Center.

I became a PA Licensed Psychologist (#PS017215) in 2012, when I also started my independent psychology business. Currently, I offer psychology services, business and financial coaching, and, workshops at my office in Clarks Summit, PA.

Again, I never imagined that I would become a doctor AND entrepreneur. I know from personal experience and professional training that change is both exciting and difficult. I also know that the world is filled with possibilities.
